The Global Coordinating Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce Young Arbitration and ADR Forum (ICC YAAF) has appointed new Co-Chairs. Amanda Jiménez Pintón, Counsel of the ICC Latin American case management team, and Stella Leptourgou, Counsel of the ICC Middle East case management team, succeed Ana Serra e Moura, Deputy Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, and Alya Ladjimi, Counsel of the ICC International Centre for ADR.
Ms Jiménez Pintón and Ms Leptourgou will work alongside Katherine Lievano, Project Manager, DRS Engagements and Initiatives, and together will constitute the ICC YAAF Global Coordinating Committee. Mandates of the newly appointed co-chairs are effective immediately with a first order of business to appoint new Regional Representatives for the 2024-2026 mandate.
Incoming Regional Representatives will be announced in June 2024 and will serve alongside the current YAAF Representatives until the 9th ICC YAAF Global Conference, linked to the ICC New York Conference scheduled on 27 September 2024. The co-chairs will officially hand over new responsibilities to the new YAAF Representatives at the event.
The co-chairs will oversee the Global Coordinating Committee of ICC YAAF, develop and strengthen the ICC YAAF community, contribute to training and creating strong connections with future arbitration leaders, and promote the work of the ICC Court and the International Centre for ADR.
Ms Jiménez Pintón joined ICC in May 2017 as a Deputy Counsel within the Latin American and Iberian team. She became Counsel for the same team in 2021.
Ms Leptourgou joined ICC in July 2017 as a Deputy Counsel within the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean team. Since 2021, she has been the Counsel of her team. Looking forward to the new challenge, she said:
“As the new ICC YAAF co-chair, I am enthusiastic about bringing young practitioners from all over the world together and about working hand in hand with the ICC YAAF representatives to create opportunities for mentoring and nurturing future leaders, to shape the discussion regarding the future of international arbitration and ADR, and to continue promoting ICC dispute resolution and dispute prevention tools.”
Ms Ladjimi said:
“Both Ana and I want to congratulate the new co-chairs. We have every confidence that they will excel in their new role while being driven by the enthusiasm and motivation of YAAF members.”
Open to young dispute resolution practitioners aged 40 and under, ICC YAAF provides a range of opportunities for individuals to gain knowledge, develop skills, build networks, and garner a better understanding of ICC’s Dispute Resolution Services. The global ICC YAAF network connects practitioners across seven Regional Chapters in Africa, Middle East, North Asia, South Asia, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America, and North America.
