Ranjit Roy is Head of the Middle East for ANZ Banking Group, based in the DIFC, Dubai, with overall responsibility for governance, risk, coverage, strategy, risk and business from a high quality and robust client base of sovereign owned enterprises, major airlines, commercial banks, central banks, sovereign wealth funds and insurance companies in the GCC region.
Ranjit has over 30 years of diversified experience in leading global banks (including Deutsche Bank, ABN Amro, Standard Chartered, HSBC and RBS), having started off as a Management Trainee in ANZ Grindlays Bank in India in 1991. The past 12 years of Ranjit’s working career have been with ANZ Group in the Middle East, having had prior experience in various global banks in Treasury, Marketing, Retail Banking, Expatriate Services, Corporate Banking, Correspondent Banking and Transaction Banking.
Ranjit completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies on a full scholarship in the United States, with an overseas semester in Vienna, Austria. He had also done internships at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and Management Club Vienna.
He is an active participant in various business forums and community groups, and has been invited to speak at industry events, at professional mentorship groups and in student career counselling sessions.
On the personal side, Ranjit is known to be an intrepid traveller having covered 122 countries for which he was admitted to the Century Club of global travellers. He is also an avid collector of artefacts and has been featured in interior design magazines on more than one occasion. More recently, Ranjit has taken up motor sports as a hobby in the UAE and in driving tours overseas.
