CIArb is an international centre of excellence for the practice and profession of alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
Our growing membership of over 17,000 is based across 149 countries and supported by an international network of 42 branches.
CIArb provides education and training for arbitrators, mediators and adjudicators.
It also acts as a global hub for practitioners, policy makers, academics and those in business, supporting the global promotion, facilitation and development of all ADR methods.
CIArb offers a range of resources including guidance, support, advice, networking and promotional opportunities, as well as facilities for hearings, meetings and other events.
I’m a civil engineer with 13 years of experience in the construction industry, all of which has been gained in the Middle East region, with extensive engagement in project controls, programme development and management and forensic delay analysis. During my 13 years of working experience I was widely involved in claim management, produced, and reviewed claims concerning extension of time awards for project delivery.
I have worked in a variety of positions in the construction and civil engineering industry providing client-side advice about project controls, construction programmes, risk assessment, documentation and change control management on a portfolio of infrastructure, road works and landscape projects.
My key strengths include forensic delay analysis, project controls and management, claims management, bespoke contracts, presenting seminars and training in house and to clients, and more recently providing expert witness assistance.
I’m a committee member of the CIArb Young Members Group (UAE Branch), member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and Member of Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.
Haitham Mokhtar is a Technical Engineering Expert and Project/Construction Management Advisor, he started his working experience since June 1993 even prior Graduation. He spent around 5 years in Marketing and Mechanical Maintenance, then around 2 decades in the O&G Industry, With wide exposure to Greenfield, Brownfield and Integrity Projects, drilling rigs, worked mainly at offshore oilfields and sometimes at onshore oilfields, HQ’s and fabrication yards and on board several types of marine units, then Since 2018 till date he is registered as Expert Witness (Engineering) in all the UAE local and federal courts, he practiced Conciliation while executing court assignments ,he manage to resolve the dispute in 20 assignments, totalling more than 400 assignments form UAE local /Federal courts and Arbitration centres.
In July 2023 he became Accredit Mediator by CEDR , and keep developing skills as Arbitrator by participating in CIARB mentorship programmes, at UAE branch as Program Facilitator & Egypt Branch as mentee. Completed Module 1 to 5 on FIDIC contracts. He is professionally and technically equipped to participate in Arbitration Panels or Mediation Assignments as well.
Haitham Holds a B. Sc. In Mech. Engineering (Alexandria University, Egypt, 1995), Some M.Sc. Study in Heat Transfer (2004) , a post Graduate Diploma in Offshore Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology, Egypt, 2010.
He is also a Fellow member and Assessor of the IMarEST, Member of the CIArb, and CEng from Engineering Council-UK, He is also certified as Prince-2 Practitioner, a Certified International Project Manager (CIPM), and an Internal Auditor ISO 9001, and OHSAS 18001, and more.
He was a reviewer of the PMI – PMBOK, 5th Edition 2013, and Volunteered with International and local organizations such as PMI, CIArb, IMarEST, PCE-UAE, volunteers.ae, and more, that qualified him to obtain the UAE Golden Visa (10 years) as a pioneer of Humanitarians.
He is also a Public Speaker, Coach, Facilitator and Trainer, recently obtained a trainer Page from London institute of Banking and Finance.

Iryna is a strategic advisor with 17 years of experience, including in real estate, retail, engineering & construction, and more recently in professional services including dispute resolution, preparation & defence of contractual claims, and expert work. Iryna is a Fellow with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and acts as an arbitrator in construction and property disputes. She is the Immediate Past Chair of the UAE Branch of the CIArb and teaches International Arbitration with the Institute.
Iryna is dual qualified, holding a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters degree in Construction Law, Dispute Resolution and Arbitration.
Iryna specialises in contracts & quantum and is known for her commercial acumen and her ability to quickly get to the root of the issues. Prior to joining her current employer HKA, Iryna has held project management positions with consultancies in the United Arab Emirates, managing the commercial, financial and technical delivery aspects of numerous design and construction projects, whilst also developing client relationships in the MENA and CIS countries. This experience, coupled with a broad skillset, has enabled Iryna to smoothly transition into contractual claims and dispute resolution, assisting clients in any facet of contractual disputes in the infrastructure, construction, oil & gas, and energy sectors.
Iryna is multilingual, her experience is truly international and includes many prestigious projects throughout the Middle East and beyond (Algeria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Iran, Iraq, Kenya, KSA, Kuwait, Malaysia, Montenegro, Morocco, Oman, South Africa, Tanzania, UAE & UK), including buildings, power (hydro, geothermal, gas-fired, combined-cycle gas turbine), transport infrastructure, oil & gas and manufacturing facilities.
Iryna is also a Registered RICS Expert Witness, and provides training in Cost Planning, Project controls, Procurement, Claims and Disputes, and Contract Administration. She is a frequent speaker at various events and conferences in the ADR field.
Elsewhere, Iryna is a true mentor known to many for her people skills. In 2021, Iryna was nominated for a prestigious Middle East Consultant Awards in the category ‘Women in Construction – Professional of the Year’. Besides her day job she has a strong passion for all things ED&I and empowering the youth. To that end, she is a member of several boards and committees:

Kasia Halliday, is an Associate Director in the firm’s Construction Practice, based in Dubai. She is a Chartered Surveyor and a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Kasia has 17 years of experience in quantity surveying, commercial management, contract administration and and close to 10 years of experience in dispute resolution.
Kasia started her career as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 2004 in the UK. The invaluable experience gained during the construction phase of projects and the mechanisms available to parties to resolve conflicts became a driving factor in her career, which led to a transition into contract services, dispute resolution and her current role in the quantum expert field.
Kasia has extensive quatum expertise, providing quatum services on high profile dispute resolution commissions and arbitration proceedings.
Her appreciation of contractual matters is complemented by her previous experience in commercial management, gained in the earlier phasess of her career.
Kasia is also a Vice-Chair and Training and Education Officer for the CIArb UAE Branch.
Sandra is an international Arbitrator and British Barrister. She is a member of 33 Bedford Row Chambers in London and she is also the founder of Anotherwayy, a boutique dispute resolution practice in the UAE. Sandra is also a qualified attorney in the US state of New York. She is on a number of arbitral panels including CIArb, DIAC and SCCA.
Sandra is a general disputes practitioner with a particular interest in investment treaty and commercial disputes. She has experience of dealing with a variety of disputes including contractual disputes, construction disputes, various commercial disputes and sale or purchase agreements disputes. Sandra is also an accredited mediator in civil and commercial mediations. She is a Civil Mediation Council Associate Mediator.
