WORK EXPERIENCE

•  Antonio Varvaro is an Italian Lawyer, Mediator and Arbitrator with over 25 years of experience. He has been employed by Governmental organizations and Ministries both in Italy and abroad.

•  Antonio is a member of the BAR association in Italy since 1993 with right of audience before the Supreme Court of Cassation and the Highest Courts in Italy.

Currently he runs his own legal office in Rome in the central Piazza del Popolo (Valadier Palace) and in Dubai in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT).

•  During his career, Antonio has been appointed as a defending lawyer /counsel in more than 500 legal disputes before the State Courts in Italy as well as Counsel in administered arbitration cases (ICC, DIAC, DIFC-LCIA, ADCCAC) and "ad hoc" arbitration cases. Sometimes Antonio has played also the role of Sole Arbitrator (Camera Arbitrale presso la Camera di Commercio di Catania and DIAC).

•  Antonio is also a Chartered Arbitrator specialized in London in 2010 at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a professional Trainer in Mediation authorized by the Italian Ministry of Justice.

•  Antonio is one of the three Italian Lawyers who has been granted by the Ruler’s Court (Legal Affairs Department) a Legal Consultancy License in Dubai directly. He is also registered in DIFC Courts, an Independent Judiciary of Common Law in Dubai, with unrestricted rights of audience.

•  In 2019 Antonio has served has an Adjunct Faculty of Business Law at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (United Arab Emirates).

In 2021 the UAE Ministry of Economy authorized the firm to act as its Trademark Agent.

EDUCATION

Antonio obtained his Law Degree from University of Palermo (Italy) in 1987.

During 1988 he has attended a one-year course at Foundation "Anselmo Anselmi" -Notary's School (in Rome), gaining a specific knowledge in Contracts, Agreements drafting and Commercial Law.

In November 2014 Antonio also gained a Master of Business Administration (major in Family Business and Entrepreneurship, specialization in globalization and internationalization of enterprises) at the International University Link Campus University of Rome.

In June 2019 Antonio was awarded a “Certificate in English Common Law and DIFC Court Practice” by the DIFC Academy of Law confirming his knowledge of the Common Law system and his skills in Advanced Advocacy.

He speaks Italian (mother tongue), English (fluent) and French (intermediate).
