The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO) have announced a new partnership to boost global agricultural development and sustainability.
The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 12 October, marking a significant collaboration between the world’s leading private sector companies and the agricultural community.
The partnership aims to improve cooperation between private companies and farmers worldwide, promoting a farmer-driven agenda focused on innovation, trade policy and sustainable practices within the agri-food sector.
ICC and WFO will work together to address critical development challenges, advocating for responsible business conduct and a global approach to regulation while ensuring that farmers are heard in international forums and processes.
The collaboration will include developing training programmes and facilitating knowledge exchange between farmers and private sector entities. It represents a call to action for all stakeholders in the global agricultural sector to work collaboratively towards a more sustainable and prosperous future.
