ICC forum for young arbitrators changes name to reflect broad dispute resolution scope

Paris,

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Young Arbitrators Forum (YAF) has changed its name to the Young Arbitration and ADR Forum (YAAF) to underscore the global network’s wide range of alternative dispute resolution services.

Under the auspices of ICC’s market-leading Dispute Resolution Services, ICC YAAF dedicates its work to the promotion of all methods of effective dispute resolution and dispute prevention and avoidance, by introducing new practitioners and students worldwide to the field of International Arbitration and ADR.

Open to young dispute resolution practitioners aged 40 and under, ICC YAAF provides a range of opportunities for individuals to gain knowledge, develop skills, build networks, and garner a better understanding of ICC’s arbitral procedure and other dispute resolution services, such as mediation, expert appraisal and dispute boards. It plays an instrumental role in shaping future dispute resolution practitioners globally.

Throughout the world, ICC YAAF hosts hundreds of educational and social events each year, providing young professionals the opportunity to discover best practices, discuss topical issues and network with experienced practitioners. ICC YAAF’s activities are globally coordinated by the ICC YAAF Global Coordinating Committee in Paris and organised in each region by the ICC YAAF Regional Head of Chapter.

The global ICC YAAF network brings together over 27,400 practitioners across seven Regional Chapters in Africa, Middle East and Turkey, North Asia, South Asia, Europe and Russia, Latin America, and North America.

Offering a wide choice of administered procedures as an alternative to litigation for resolving domestic and international disputes, ICC Dispute Resolution Services continues to open the doors to alternative dispute resolution services by launching its global strategy for the upcoming years for ICC YAAF with different initiatives encompassing three key areas of activity: knowledge and capacity building, strengthening the network, and social impact. Stay tuned for the launch of an essay competition, bootcamp, mentoring programme and much more.
